How it works
From your data to a decision, with you in the chair.
hlpr works like a well-run leadership team: people come prepared, ideas are challenged, one person decides, and someone checks whether it worked.
- 1
Tell hlpr about your company
Give it your website and hlpr reads it to work out what you sell, who to and how you talk about it. You check what it found and change anything that is off.
- 2
Connect the tools you run on
Stripe, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Google Analytics, Search Console, a support inbox. Each seat reads its own area: the CFO reads revenue, the CRO reads the pipeline, the CMO reads traffic.
- 3
Pick your seats
Four are on to start: chief of staff, product, CFO and Challenger. Turn on more as you need them, and rename any seat to match how your company talks.
- 4
Seats come prepared and propose
On the schedule you set, each seat pulls its numbers, compares them with what is already on the register, and proposes what it would do, with the evidence and a success metric.
- 5
They argue it out
The Challenger questions each proposal; other seats weigh in from their own areas. You can join the debate in writing or in a live meeting.
- 6
You decide
Approve it or send it back with your reason. Only you can decide, and every decision is in the audit log with who made it and when.
- 7
The work gets done, then scored
The owner seat drafts the work for you to approve: an email, a plan, a document. Later the auditor checks the result against the success metric it was approved with.
The register
One path for every decision.
Autonomy
You set how far each seat may go, one area at a time.
Every action a seat can take has a draft-and-approve path, a recorded outcome (sent as written, edited or rejected) and a track record. You turn an area on when the record earns it, and off whenever you like.
Propose only
The seat drafts. You approve, edit or reject each one. Where every seat starts.
Act after approval
The seat does the work once you have approved it, without you doing the last step.
Act, then tell you
The seat acts in that one area and tells you what it did. You can still give feedback on each action.
Act within a budget
The seat acts quietly in that area, inside the limits and daily budget you set.
What seats can never do
- Decide a register item, approve their own work or reopen a decision
- Change their own autonomy or anyone else's
- Write to your finance or sales tools: those connections are read-only
These are enforced on the server, in the same rules every request goes through, not just hidden in the interface.
Meetings
Four kinds of meeting, each with its own rules.
Briefing
The owner presents; the others hold their questions.
Debate
Disagreement expected; the Challenger questions each answer.
Brainstorm
Ideas only; no critique until the mode ends.
Decision
Each seat gives a final position; you decide.
Make your next big decision with a full team behind you.
hlpr is invite-only while we build with our first companies. Tell us about yours and we will be in touch.
Open your company, connect a tool or two, and see what your seats bring you.
